Education:  B.A. Tulane University, Professional Certificate in Mediation/Conflict Management and post-bachelor’s work in Nutrition

Britt’s fitness knowledge and experience spans across diverse movement styles, from CrossFit to ballet barre to Pilates, bringing a unique twist to her classes.  Britt puts all of her energy into making every class a fun, easy-to-follow workout with maximum benefits to her students’ bodies and minds.  Her background in ballet brought her to focus on Pilates over the past 12 years.  “What I love about Pilates is that it includes modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation.  This focus challenges you to stabilize the shoulder girdle, abs, lower back, and pelvis while mobilizing the rest of the body.”  She loves that Pilates can benefit everyone, from elite athletes to post-rehab exercisers.  “The challenge of giving a hard workout to a conditioned athlete, helping an injured person recover, or introducing exercise to someone new to movement is exciting to me.  Pilates is a perfect tool for all three.”

In addition to Pilates, Britt has been teaching strength training and Boot Camp style classes since 2001, adding dance fitness and parent/child movement over the last few years.  Additionally, when she became pregnant with her first child, she studied the prenatal and post-partum body.  After her births, she become well-versed at helping women identify and repair the separation of the abdominal muscles that are taxed during pregnancy.  Her unique postpartum fitness classes focus on precisely those muscles, helping women safely repair the diastasis recti, a separation of the outermost abdominal muscle, common in most post-partum women.  Her most recent class formats, Totalbarre™, run + barre, and barre + Pilates have soared with popularity and nicely meld Britt’s background in ballet barre with a variety of conditioning styles.

Britt is an eternal student and is always studying anatomy and nutrition and pursuing advanced certifications in Pilates and CrossFit.  When she isn’t in the studio teaching, she loves to enjoy time outdoors running, biking with her family, hiking, and snowshoeing.  She also enjoys cooking delicious, nourishing food.
